Mērķis
Nodrošināt sadarbību starp purvus apsaimniekošanā iesaistītajām struktūrām purvu un kūdras resursu racionālai, ilgtspējīgai un atbildīgai izmantošanai; pētīt īpašību izmaiņas degšanas ietekmētajos kūdras slāņos kā noteicošo faktoru purva pašatjaunošanās spējas novērtēšanai, piemērotāko un zinātniski pamatotu apsaimniekošanas pasākumu izvēlei.
Uzdevumi
- Analizēt degšanas ietekmētus kūdras slāņus, novērtēt izmaiņas salīdzinot ar netraucētiem;
- Pilnveidot kūdras un degumu izpētes metodes, izstrādāt metodiku degušu purvu novērtēšanai
- Novērtēt kūdras uzkrāšanās un purva atjaunošanās procesu dinamiku pēc degšanas;
- Rekomendāciju sagatavošana degušu purvu teritoriju efektīvai apsaimniekošanai;
- Zinātnisko publikāciju sagatavošana un sabiedrības informēšana.

About the Project
Aim
Ensure co-operation between the structures involved in the management of bogs for the rational, sustainable and responsible use of bogs and peat resources; to study the changes in the properties of the peat layers affected by combustion as a determining factor for the assessment of the self-regeneration capacity of the bog, for the selection of the most appropriate and scientifically based management measures.
Tasks
- To analyze the peat layers affected by combustion, to evaluate the changes in comparison with undisturbed ones;
- To improve peat and combustion research methods, to develop a methodology for the evaluation of burnt bogs
- To evaluate the dynamics of peat accumulation and bog regeneration processes after burning;
- Preparation of recommendations for efficient management of burnt bog territories;
- Preparation of scientific publications and informing the public.
